British-Pakistani racing driver Enaam Ahmed has secured a place in Ferrari’s Driver Academy for his young protégé, Daniel Miron Lorente, following a year of coaching and development. The achievement marks a significant step for Ahmed’s work as a mentor, extending his contribution to motorsport beyond his own racing career.
Ahmed has spent the past 12 months guiding Lorente through his driver development programme, overseeing his training and negotiating the agreement with Ferrari. Their partnership has already produced results, with Lorente winning this year’s Champions of the Future series, an international karting competition that brings together promising young drivers.

The Ferrari Driver Academy is designed to nurture emerging racing talent and prepare young drivers for progression through competitive motorsport. Lorente’s selection offers him an opportunity to continue developing within a programme associated with one of Formula 1’s most recognisable teams. However, joining the academy is a step in his career rather than a guarantee of a future Formula 1 seat.
Ahmed’s long-term ambition is to guide Lorente through the different levels of racing and help him work towards the possibility of competing for Ferrari in Formula 1. The next stages of that journey will depend on the young driver’s continued development, performance and progress through the sport’s competitive ranks.

Ahmed brings considerable experience to his mentoring role. He became the first Pakistani to win a world karting championship before claiming the British Formula 3 title. His record in British Formula 3 includes 13 victories in a single season, surpassing a previous record held by legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna.
His latest achievement reflects a transition from competing on the track to helping develop the next generation of drivers. Through his coaching and management work, Ahmed is applying his racing experience to support emerging talent on the international stage.
