When Lucky Motor Corporation introduced the Kia Sportage in Pakistan in 2019, the country's passenger vehicle market was largely dominated by conventional sedans.

As Pakistan's first locally assembled C segment SUV, the Sportage helped introduce a new combination of premium comfort, modern technology, practicality, and SUV styling to local consumers.

The model quickly became an important name in Pakistan's growing crossover SUV segment and helped reshape consumer expectations around family vehicles. Its success also encouraged greater competition within the category. Today, the Sportage L represents the next chapter of that journey.

The Sportage L is supported by a strong international track record, with the Sportage nameplate recording more than eight million cumulative sales worldwide. The model has become Kia's highest selling vehicle globally, demonstrating its popularity across multiple international markets.

In the United States, the Sportage was Kia's best selling vehicle during 2025, further strengthening the model's global credentials. The 2026 model also received the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for vehicles manufactured after May 2025.

The Sportage has also achieved a five star ANCAP safety rating, adding to its international reputation for safety.

Kia Pakistan introduced the fifth generation Sportage L with hybrid electric technology in February 2025, responding to growing interest in electrified vehicles and greater fuel efficiency.

The lineup received another update in July 2026, bringing refreshed styling and an expanded range of hybrid options.

The Sportage L hybrid combines a turbocharged 1.6 litre Smart Stream GDI petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.49kWh lithium ion battery. It is paired with a six speed automatic transmission featuring electronic Shift by Wire controls. The lineup now includes both Front Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive hybrid variants.
