Young Pakistani Swimmer Zayan Ali Khan Wins Five Medals

Pakistan’s young swimming talent Zayan Ali Khan has delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 All-Pakistan McDonald’s Inter-School Swimming Championship, securing five medals: three gold, one silver and one bronze. He also earned the Best Swimmer title in the Under-12 category.
Representing Aitchison College in Lahore, Zayan stood out among young competitors and set a new championship record in the 200-metre freestyle event, adding another milestone to his growing swimming career.
His achievement reflects the potential of young Pakistani athletes who are developing their skills through competitive sports and gaining recognition at national-level events.

This latest success builds on Zayan’s achievements earlier in 2026, when he won three gold and two silver medals at the first Governor Punjab Swimming Championship. He also claimed the Best Swimmer title in the Under-12 category at that event.
His progress has been evident since 2024, when he established a Pakistan national Under-10 record in the 50-metre backstroke at the National Age Group Swimming Championship in Lahore, completing the race in 40.73 seconds.
That same year, he earned further recognition at Punjab-level swimming competitions, building a strong foundation through repeated performances across different events.

Zayan’s journey highlights the importance of introducing children to sports at an early age. Swimming demands physical conditioning, technical precision and consistency, with competitive success depending on regular training and the ability to perform under pressure.
Achievements at school and provincial championships can help young athletes gain experience, improve their technique and prepare for increasingly competitive events. Access to quality coaching, suitable facilities and structured competitions can make a meaningful difference in their development.
