Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has called for the discovery and development of new tourist destinations in Kolai Palas and Allai, aiming to bring more of the province’s lesser known landscapes into the spotlight.
He has directed authorities to identify scenic locations that can be transformed into properly managed destinations with modern, world class facilities for visitors.
Under the Khushhal Hazara Package, the provincial government has allocated Rs 500 million for tourism related development projects in the region.
The plan goes beyond simply attracting visitors. The chief minister has stressed the need for better hospitality services, visitor facilities and traffic management to create a smoother experience for tourists and support the growth of local tourism businesses.
At the same time, development is expected to remain sustainable.
The government sees tourism as more than a way to showcase KP’s mountains and valleys. Chief Minister Afridi has linked the sector directly with employment, local businesses and economic opportunity, particularly for communities living near emerging destinations.
Greater tourism activity could create demand for hotels, restaurants, transport services, guides, handicrafts and other small businesses, allowing local residents to participate in the growing visitor economy.
Afridi has stressed that communities should be involved in tourism development so its benefits reach people at the grassroots level.
