Pakistan International Airlines is preparing for its first uniform redesign in a decade, with 10 leading Pakistani designers presenting their concepts for the national carrier’s future crew uniforms at a showcase held earlier this month.
The lineup brought together some of the country’s most established fashion names, including Maheen Khan, Deepak Perwani, Faraz Manan, Amir Adnan, HSY, Nomi Ansari, Munib Nawaz, Ismail Farid, Generation and Deepak and Fahad.

The designers took very different approaches while maintaining a strong connection to PIA’s visual identity. Forest green appeared prominently across several collections, alongside navy, beige, turquoise, grey and white.
Some designers opted for sharply tailored suits, while others introduced waistcoats, mandarin-collar tunics, long coats, flight suits, scarves, caps and berets.
HSY, for example, presented a navy double-breasted pilot’s uniform, while Amir Adnan worked with forest green and grey-blue.

The showcase marks the beginning of a new uniform cycle for PIA. The airline’s current uniforms were introduced in 2016, following a designer showcase that featured Nomi Ansari and Sania Maskatiya. Their designs used green, navy and maroon and have served PIA crews for the past 10 years.
This time, the competition is also intended to connect PIA’s visual heritage with contemporary aviation standards. The uniform is more than a workplace outfit, with designers and organisers describing it as part of how the national carrier represents Pakistan internationally.
