Palestinian medical and dental students who have been unable to complete their undergraduate clinical requirements can now continue that essential training in Pakistan under a special humanitarian arrangement.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has clarified that the initiative was introduced in 2024 to support students from Gaza whose education was disrupted and who could not fulfil their mandatory clinical requirements.
The arrangement offers these students an opportunity to complete the practical component of their undergraduate education in Pakistani medical and dental institutions.

The special arrangement has a clearly defined scope. Palestinian students can use it specifically to complete the clinical requirements needed for their undergraduate medical or dental degrees.
It does not extend to house jobs, internships, postgraduate education, registration or permission to practise medicine or dentistry in Pakistan.
PMDC has also directed institutions not to make promises or arrangements that go beyond the approved framework. Any institution found disregarding these instructions could face regulatory action.

Once their required clinical training is completed, the students are expected to return to Palestine, with their academic degrees remaining the responsibility of their original institutions in Gaza.
The initiative provides a practical pathway for students whose medical education was interrupted by circumstances beyond their control, allowing them to complete an important stage of their training.
At the same time, PMDC’s clarification establishes clear boundaries around what the arrangement allows.
