Pakistan Takes a Leap into Space: Two Astronauts Begin Training in China
Two Pakistani astronauts have officially begun training at the Astronaut Center of China, marking a historic step in Pakistan’s participation in human spaceflight programs.
According to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), both astronauts are currently undergoing structured preparation alongside Chinese counterparts.
The development is part of a broader cooperation between Pakistan and China in space research and exploration.
Officials confirmed that one of the astronauts will be selected for a short-term mission aboard China’s Tiangong space station as a payload speciali
The Pakistani astronauts are currently engaged in comprehensive training programs at the Astronaut Center of China in Beijing.
Their preparation includes technical spaceflight education, mission simulations, and operational skill development required for space missions.
In addition to technical training, the astronauts are also receiving intensive Chinese language instruction.
This is essential for communication, daily operations, and coordination with mission control and crew members during spaceflight.
Under the current plan, one of the two Pakistani astronauts will be selected for a short-duration mission to the Tiangong space station.
The selected astronaut will serve as a payload specialist, contributing to scientific experiments in space.
This would mark the first time a Pakistani astronaut travels to a Chinese space station, representing a major achievement in Pakistan-China scientific cooperation.
It also reflects China’s increasing openness to international participation in its space program.
The astronaut training initiative is part of expanding cooperation between Pakistan and China in science and technology.
Over the years, China has supported Pakistan in multiple research and development areas, including space science and satellite programs.
Experts view this collaboration as an important step toward strengthening Pakistan’s capabilities in advanced aerospace fields. It also opens new opportunities for joint scientific experiments and technological development.
The program highlights the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
