Pakistan Saudi Arabia And Türkiye Meet In Riyadh

Senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye are meeting in Riyadh on October 5 under the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established by the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The meeting brings together key political and military leadership from all three countries.
Pakistan is represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, alongside their Saudi and Turkish counterparts.

The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement was signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye on August 7, 2026, creating a framework for closer cooperation in security and defence. Under the agreement, an armed attack against one member is regarded as an attack against all three.
The countries have since moved towards developing the agreement’s institutional structure. An earlier committee meeting in Istanbul on August 31 agreed to establish a Secretariat in Saudi Arabia and strengthen cooperation in areas including defence industries, technology development and joint production.

The three countries are also expected to discuss the latest developments across the region, with the meeting taking place amid heightened security concerns. Turkish officials said the talks would address regional developments as well as progress in the institutionalisation of the alliance.
Pakistan has described its participation as part of its continued contribution towards regional peace and stability. The agreement’s members have previously expressed support for de escalation, restraint and peaceful solutions to regional crises.
