Pakistan Army Signs Deal For US Drone Systems

Pakistan is set to receive unmanned aerial systems from US defence technology company Powerus under a newly signed agreement. The company confirmed that it has received an initial procurement order from Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence, while the exact systems and quantity have not been made public.
Powerus said the order covers unmanned aerial systems and related support, but declined to disclose its financial value or other technical details. The company cited security and confidentiality considerations for withholding the information.

The development followed a meeting between a Powerus delegation and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on September 16.
According to ISPR, the discussions covered defence technology, procurement, production and long term capacity building. The military statement did not publicly announce the MoU or initial order, which Powerus later confirmed separately.
Powerus has said it sees opportunities for deeper US Pakistan cooperation in autonomous systems, including exploring technology development and potential manufacturing in Pakistan.

The agreement comes as Pakistan explores expanded cooperation with US companies in defence technology. Powerus develops both aerial and maritime unmanned systems for military and industrial applications, giving the partnership a potential scope beyond a single procurement order.
Powerus is also preparing to merge with Aureus Greenway Holdings, a US listed company backed by an investment fund in which Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump hold stakes. The proposed merger is expected to be completed in early October, subject to closing conditions.
