Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day celebrations in Islamabad took to the skies as Pakistan Air Force fighter jets conducted a special flypast over Yadgar-e-Fatah, adding a powerful visual moment to the national ceremony.
The aircraft flew over the newly inaugurated monument as the capital marked another Independence Day, combining the traditional celebrations on the ground with a display of Pakistan’s air power above.
The flypast formed part of a ceremony attended by senior state and military officials, with the monument providing a significant backdrop for the national celebrations.

The air display took place at Yadgar-e-Fatah, a monument in Islamabad’s H-8 sector dedicated to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and the Marka-e-Haq victory of 2025.
The monument was formally inaugurated on August 13 by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, ahead of Independence Day.

The PAF display became particularly striking as fighter jets passed over the capital and released flares, creating bright trails across the night sky.
The aerial performance was accompanied by other elements of the Independence Day ceremony, including flag hoisting, the national anthem and fireworks.
Together, the displays transformed the event into a large national celebration, with the skies and the monument becoming part of the same visual spectacle.

The Yadgar-e-Fatah ceremony brought together senior government and military officials to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day and honour the country’s national journey.
The PAF flypast was more than an aerial display. Set against the newly inaugurated monument, it became part of a broader ceremony focused on remembrance, sacrifice, defence and national unity.
From the national anthem and flag hoisting to fireworks illuminating the capital, the celebrations reflected the emotions surrounding August 14.
