Pakistan Television batter Muhammad Shahzad has rewritten the national first class record books with a century that came in just 49 balls.
He achieved the milestone while facing Kingsmen Academy during the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade I at Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad on September 24.
The 22 year old walked in when PTV were struggling at 34 for 3, but quickly changed the direction of the innings.

The innings saw Shahzad surpass a record that had belonged to former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq for more than a decade.
Misbah had previously held Pakistan’s fastest first class century record after reaching 100 from 56 balls against Australia in 2014.
Shahzad did not stop after reaching three figures. He continued attacking before being dismissed for 114 from 62 deliveries, with his innings featuring 12 fours and eight sixes.

The record breaking knock also helped PTV recover from its difficult start. Shahzad formed a 143 run partnership with Mohammad Taha, who contributed 43, as the team rebuilt its innings after losing three early wickets.
Shahzad has represented Pakistan at Under 16 and Under 19 level and played at the 2020 Under 19 World Cup in South Africa.
He has also featured in List A and T20 cricket, including six matches for Islamabad United during the 2025 Pakistan Super League season.
