Coke Studio Nu.WAV has kicked off its latest chapter with Dil, bringing together rising voices Afusic and Zoha Waseem for a contemporary take on love, connection and the distractions that can pull people apart.
Produced by Ali Soomro, the track began almost spontaneously when a guitar idea evolved into a beat within minutes. Afusic later recorded raw vocals on his phone and sent them back, creating a foundation that the team felt captured the song’s natural energy.
The result is an intimate opening to a six track series designed to spotlight fresh sounds and artistic identities.

Dil explores a relationship through two different musical perspectives. Afusic’s verses centre on a woman who knew him before fame, attention and the distractions that came with success entered his life.
His delivery gives the song a personal and reflective quality. Zoha Waseem then adds another dimension, turning what begins as a personal expression into a conversation between two people.
Her background in classical and ghazal singing meets modern production, while Afusic brings the influence of contemporary pop and hip hop.

The song’s visual story, directed by Kamal Khan, takes the idea of distraction and transforms it into a surreal world. Afusic appears as a man trying to find his way home, while Zoha exists in a space where ordinary reality has been turned upside down.
Furniture hangs from ceilings and familiar objects appear completely out of place. The visual chaos reflects the emotional distance between the two characters. When they finally reunite, the world begins to make sense again. Dil is the first of six Nu.WAV releases, setting the tone for a series built around new artists, bold ideas and personal storytelling.
