A Pakistani expatriate has landed a staggering financial windfall after winning the grand prize in Big Ticket’s Series 290 draw in Abu Dhabi.
Shaukat Aftab walked away with Dh15 million, equivalent to approximately Rs1.14 billion, after his ticket number 245556 was selected during the televised draw.
The scale of the prize initially left Aftab unsure whether he had actually won. Rather than immediately celebrating, he reportedly went back to watch the draw on YouTube to confirm the result. Once the win was verified, the reality of the extraordinary moment finally sank in.
For Aftab, discovering that he had won more than a billion rupees was anything but an ordinary moment. The announcement was so unexpected that he wanted to make absolutely sure his ticket had been selected.
He replayed the live draw on YouTube before accepting that the life changing news was real. Once convinced, excitement and gratitude replaced the initial disbelief.
His experience captures just how dramatically a single lottery draw can alter someone’s financial circumstances. What began with an ordinary ticket ended with Aftab securing one of the biggest prizes recently associated with a Pakistani participant in the UAE.
The Dh15 million prize marks a major personal milestone for Aftab and adds another remarkable story to the list of Pakistanis who have achieved major wins through Big Ticket in the UAE.
Beyond the eye catching amount, the story has resonated because of the sheer speed of the transformation. One moment Aftab was watching a televised draw, and the next he was confirmed as the recipient of a multimillion dirham prize.
His unexpected fortune is now set to become a defining chapter of his life, turning ticket number 245556 into a number he is unlikely to ever forget.
