Inspector Jamshed Enters a New Cinematic Adventure
The first trailer for Inspector Jamshed: The Secret Parchment has introduced audiences to a fresh cinematic take on one of Pakistan’s beloved Urdu literary characters. The upcoming spy adventure stars Omair Rana as Inspector Jamshed, marking his silver screen debut.
The story follows the legendary detective as he investigates a dangerous mystery surrounding a secret parchment and a series of murders.
Packed with action, mystery, secret organisations, fast cars and high tech gadgets, the film appears to combine classic espionage with a modern visual style.
Ahad Raza Mir takes on a darker role in the film as Behzaad, a mysterious and seemingly unpredictable character connected to the murders at the heart of the story.
The trailer offers glimpses of a growing confrontation between Behzaad and Inspector Jamshed, with the investigation becoming personal when Jamshed’s daughter is kidnapped.
The cast also includes Anoushay Abbasi as Shakeela, Jamshed’s wife, while Asif Raza Mir plays Khan Rehman, the inspector’s loyal friend.
Inspector Jamshed’s greatest strength may be his family, as his three children become part of the dangerous mission. Mehmood, Farooq and Farzana accompany their father as he attempts to uncover the truth behind the mysterious parchment.
The young characters are played by Ravel Imran, Ahmed Harkous and Aline Harkous, bringing the family dynamic from the original stories into the film adaptation.
The upcoming film is inspired by the iconic Inspector Jamshed series created by renowned Urdu writer Ishtiaq Ahmed.
Beginning his writing career in 1973, Ahmed eventually wrote nearly 800 books, becoming one of the most prolific writers for young Pakistani readers.
His stories built a world of mystery and adventure around Inspector Jamshed and his three children, alongside memorable supporting characters.
