A vocational training initiative from China is helping young Pakistanis build careers in the rapidly growing digital economy.
Through the Kaiwu Workshop, participants receive hands-on instruction in live streaming, content creation, and cross-border e-commerce, equipping them with skills that are increasingly in demand across international markets.
The three-month program combines classroom learning with practical exercises, enabling trainees to gain real-world experience in digital marketing and online product promotion. By focusing on industry-relevant skills, the initiative is creating new employment opportunities for aspiring professionals across Pakistan.
The Kaiwu Workshop offers comprehensive training in areas including live streaming techniques, studio setup, script writing, product presentation, audience engagement, and Amazon cross-border sales.
Participants also learn how to position brands effectively and build online communities through strategic content creation.
Instead of relying solely on theory, trainees practice simulated live broadcasts where they present products, respond to customer feedback, and refine their communication skills. This practical approach helps participants develop the confidence needed to succeed in competitive digital marketplaces.
One of the workshop’s unique strengths is its focus on Pakistan’s local market. Training sessions use familiar products such as Pakistani mangoes and handmade carpets, allowing participants to learn through examples that reflect the country's industries and consumer preferences.
The program also adopts a dual-teacher model, with Chinese experts providing technical instruction while Pakistani trainers explain concepts in Urdu and adapt marketing techniques to local culture. This collaborative approach makes advanced digital skills more accessible and relevant for young professionals.
Graduates of the program are already applying their newly acquired skills in digital marketing, cross-border e-commerce, and live commerce, with many securing roles in companies serving international markets. The initiative demonstrates how vocational training can help bridge the gap between education and employment.
As digital commerce continues to expand worldwide, programs like the Kaiwu Workshop are preparing Pakistani youth to compete in emerging industries.
By combining technical expertise, practical experience, and international collaboration, the initiative is contributing to the development of a more skilled and globally connected workforce.
