Punjab Introduces Digital Emergency Support for Security Guards

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a dedicated emergency feature within the Public Safety App to provide faster assistance to security guards across the province.
The initiative is aimed at improving coordination between private security personnel and law enforcement during emergency situations.
The feature has been introduced under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety through digital innovation.
Authorities say the system is designed to ensure quicker reporting and response when security guards require immediate help.

Under the new system, security guards can create a profile by registering their personal details and current duty location through the Public Safety App.
This information is securely linked with the emergency response system to facilitate quicker identification during incidents.
Having pre-registered information allows emergency operators to access essential details without delay when an alert is received. The digital process is intended to improve the efficiency of emergency operations while reducing response times.

The application includes a dedicated emergency button that allows registered security guards to instantly notify Punjab Emergency 15 if they face a dangerous or life-threatening situation.
The alert is transmitted immediately to the Safe City Control Room for assessment. Along with the emergency notification, the system shares the guard's live location and registered information, enabling authorities to identify the exact location of the incident.
Police teams stationed nearby can then be dispatched without unnecessary delays.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority says the new feature is part of its broader strategy to integrate modern technology into public safety and emergency management.
By connecting security guards directly with emergency services, the system aims to improve protection for personnel working in the field.
Officials believe the initiative will strengthen cooperation between private security staff and law enforcement while making emergency reporting faster and more effective. The feature also supports ongoing efforts to modernize Punjab's emergency response infrastructure.
