Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has achieved another remarkable milestone through his charitable work, with the Shahid Afridi Foundation building more than 750 homes across Pakistan for families struggling to afford secure housing.
The initiative aims to provide more than just shelter, giving deserving families a permanent place to live, greater stability and an opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity. The homes also come with access to solar power, helping residents meet some of their everyday electricity needs.
Afridi shared the achievement on social media, thanking donors and supporters whose contributions helped make the project possible.

An important feature of the housing initiative is access to solar electricity. For families living with limited resources, reliable energy can make everyday activities easier, from lighting their homes to supporting children's studies after sunset.
Solar access is particularly meaningful for communities where conventional electricity can be expensive or difficult to obtain. By combining housing support with renewable energy, the foundation is addressing two essential needs that directly affect household living conditions.

Established in 2014, the Shahid Afridi Foundation works across several areas of community development, including education, healthcare, clean drinking water, sports and emergency relief.
Its wider initiatives include operating 10 schools serving more than 4,000 students and installing over 540 hand pumps across Pakistan to improve access to clean water. The organisation also supports vocational training and healthcare initiatives for underserved communities.
Afridi has thanked everyone who has contributed to the foundation's mission and encouraged further public support.
