Xiaomi to Move Towards Full-Blown Gaming Phones With Active Cooling Fans
Built-in active cooling fans are becoming increasingly common in China, with several smartphone makers adopting the approach to manage heat during sustained performance.
According to information shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Xiaomi is developing a device that incorporates an internal fan as part of its thermal management system. The fan is reportedly integrated into the camera island rather than the body of the phone.
Display, Chipset, and Cooling Design
The leaked device is reportedly powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. It will reportedly feature a display with a 1.5K resolution and an ultra-high refresh rate, although no specific refresh rate figure was mentioned.
Despite the presence of an active cooling fan, the phone is expected to carry an IP68 rating, offering resistance to dust and water. This suggests Xiaomi is engineering the cooling system without compromising durability.
